Vendor Processing is a free, easy-to-implement system that allows hospitals to charge vendors a fair fee for the use of their Sterile Processing Department (SPD). Medical device vendors bring their instrument trays and implants to the SPD to get sterilized.

Currently, hospitals provide the labor, equipment, and supplies to accomplish getting the instruments and implants ready for surgery at no cost to the vendors. Vendor Processing provides the framework for hospitals to charge vendors for preparation of instruments and implants for surgery.
